Raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining tissue and nipples. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume for example, after pregnancy, breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size.
Breast hypertrophy is the name given to the excessive volume of the breasts. The breast augmentation may appear as an isolated symptom in young patients (juvenile hypertrophy) or we can see it with the emptiness of the breast (hypertrophy with ptosis).
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, takes about 3 hours and requires 24-hour hospitalization.
The technique is usually a scar around the areola, which descends vertically to continue through a sub-mammary level in an inverted T-shape.
Recovery time is about 10 days.
