Set prominent ears back closer to the head, or reduce the size of large ears. Most often done on children between the ages of 4 and 14 years. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.
This procedure is performed under sedation, and its an ambulatory surgery. Surgical time is approximately 1 hour.
During the first week the patient will have to use an elastic bandage on his/her head all day long after some time (set by the doctor) the patient will have to use the bandage only at night.
Before going into surgery you will have to take some lab exams like:
• Complete blood count
• Glucose
• Blood type
• Renal function
• Coagulation tests
• H.I.V
• Electrocardiogram
• Thorax X-Ray
